Temporal gene expression differences in mouse brain during sleep

Description

Changes in gene expression in the cerebral cortex and hypothalamus were assessed following different durations of sleep and periods of sleep deprivation. Experiments were performed in male mice (C57BL/6J) at 10 wk of age ± 1 wk. The study consisted of 4 times points (3-, 6-, 9-, and 12-hrs) and a time=0 anchor point with 5 animals per condition.
