Identification of QTL for locomotor activation and anxiety using related inbred strains C57BL/6J and C58/J

Description

The intercross of similar inbred mouse strains, C57BL/6J and C58/J, was carried out as a control cross for an mutagenesis mapping study in behavior research. The authors identified significant QTL in F2 progeny. The locus of Chr 8 and its interaction effect form the core set of QTL controlling for activaiton and anxiety behaviors, with additional loci on Chr 1 and 6 present in a subset of the behaviors. For detailed protocols see Bailey et al 2008.
